New REL Carbon Special

The Carbon Special is a new model by REL that combines their latest engineering with cutting edge components from their reference line.

It features REL’s third-generation carbon fibre 12” driver with a new, bespoke CSP passive driver that delivers 50% longer stroke. It is powered by a NextGen 5 1,000 watt amplifier and utilises the CS PerfectFilter™ for ultimate sound performance.

The cabinet extends deeper than previous mid-chassis designs to optimise performance for this new driver complement. The aesthetics feature a subtle use of carbon fibre details sprinkled among chrome and polished stainless accents. This design highlight is specific to the Carbon Special, making it a unique piece within the REL range.

The Carbon Special offers REL’s newest BlackWidow 12” carbon fibre driver. It has been developed to deliver superior dynamic balance throughout the full range of its considerable 4” of fore-and-aft stroke. With these features, the REL Carbon special is able to handle the massive power needed to deliver explosive dynamics, smoothly and effortlessly.

The Carbon Special also offers the NextGen 5 1,000 watt amplifier which has proven to be both sonically impressive and reliable. Directing all this is a CS PerfectFilter, a custom-designed variant of REL’s latest evolution of filters that improves both ends of the audio spectrum. It delivers airy, delicate highs with greater reach within the soundstage, as well as truer, more powerful ultra-low bass.
